Overview

Mental health in the workplace has increasingly become the focus of public discussion in recent years. Despite declining sickness rates, the relative share of mental illnesses in the incidence of incapacity to work is rising, which is why the relevance of mental aspects in companies is becoming increasingly important. However, work does not per se represent an undesirable burden, but is also an important resource that can strengthen mental health and promote the well-being of employees in the long term.

Our innovative master’s program trains you as an industrial and organizational psychologist and enables you to maintain and improve the mental health of employees. In addition to personnel and organizational psychology, you will learn how to implement various psychological activities in companies in the fields of occupational safety and health (OH&S), both in terms of content and legislation. With this combination, our master’s degree makes a significant contribution to a healthy working environment.

In addition, you will gain further qualifications during your studies and receive – at no extra cost – various additional qualifications that can be an additional plus for your resume.

All in all, our master’s degree in human resources, organization, occupational safety and occupational health management (OHM) offers you a wide range of career opportunities.

Programme structure

With us, you study in the full-time study model, but in a block structure typical for our university. This means that the attendance time comprises a total of 6 block weekends per semester (Thursday to Sunday). This means that your studies can be ideally combined with your professional activities and your private requirements. You can also apply what you have learned directly in practice and address practical topics and questions directly in your lectures or with your teachers.

It is possible to have previously attended courses recognized – please contact us if necessary.

Career opportunities

Your possible fields of work:

With the master’s degree and the numerous integrated additional qualifications, a wide range of career opportunities are open to you in the areas of human resources, organization, occupational safety and occupational health management (OHM).

  • In the area of human resources, for example, you can work in personnel selection and recruitment or develop and implement further training concepts in personnel development.
  • In the area of organization, you can, for example, promote a healthy corporate culture or develop structures and processes in quality management.
  • In the area of occupational health, you will actively shape occupational health management (OHM) or workplace health promotion (WHP) and will also be available as a contact person for psychological issues in the company.
  • In the area of occupational safety, you can also have a significant influence on the design of health- and safety-oriented workplaces.
